Our books are stored in the CRP room at the Canandaigua Primary School in Canandaigua. Please visit this storage site on a regular basis to check on the books that need processing.
⦁ Screen the books based on the following criteria:
⦁ The books are of general interest
⦁ Books of special interest group topics, textbooks, encyclopedias and magazines will not be processed. These are to be tossed.
⦁ Books are to be “gently used’ to avoid a hand-me-down stigma.
⦁ Books must be free of marks, blemishes, tears and inscriptions to early owners and scent-free. You may cross out an owners’ name with a black marker.
⦁ Stamp the books in a visible spot on the inside cover or title page with the Community Reading Partnership logo

⦁ In some instances a pre-printed label may need to be inserted to give recognition to a book sponsor. This information will be posted near the books for you along with necessary supplies. For pre-K board books with glossy covers, a pre-printed label goes on the back.
⦁ Sort the books in the categories indicated – picture books, young adult etc. – This will enable book guardians to select books based on the needs of their site’s population. Holiday books can be separated for easy recognition in a labeled location.
⦁ Keep the area clean and organized.
