For organizations or businesses that request a Little Red Bookshelf at their site, the following criteria will be used to make a determination for site appropriateness:
The site:
⦁ Represents a broad geographic base within the county
⦁ Has high visibility
⦁ Is in an area that would service a population in need of books as described by our mission
⦁ Has the space for a bookshelf 35” high by 26” wide and 12” deep and is in a location that makes borrowing books accessible for individuals
⦁ Is willing to host the bookshelf for a minimum of one year. Shelves not being utilized by the community will be re-considered at the site after six months.
⦁ Provides a contact in order to build a positive relationship with the Guardian volunteer who replenishes the books. Provides input to “Guardian” for this type of books most likely to be used at the site.
⦁ Is willing to be publicized by the Community Reading Partnership (CRP)
⦁ Keeps the bookshelf and its contents safe. No inappropriate shelf use such as non-CRP books or materials.
⦁ The shelf is the property of CRP. If for some reason the shelf is stolen or damaged, we would ask your organization to replace the cost.
If you are interested in hosting a Little Red Bookshelf, please contact CRP by email for a Host Site Application. The committee will consider applications based on the above criteria and the availability or a bookshelf and of a volunteer guardian.
