The love of reading begins at birth. That’s why CRP gives every baby born at FF Thompson Hospital a copy of Rosemary Wells‘ classic, Read to Your Bunny, and shares helpful reading advice with their families.
The American Academy of Pediatrics states that reading to your newborn is a must: “The first 3 years of life is the most intensive period for speech and language development. Reading, talking, and singing regularly with young children from birth stimulates brain development. This stimulation in turn builds language, literacy, and a child’s motivation to learn.”
When you donate to Community Reading Partnership through the Finger Lakes Area Community Endowment, you’re ensuring that our next generation knows the joy and value of lifelong reading.
